ABOUT LOIS DAVIS
A story about Kindness
I am blessed with a large family which keeps me fully in tune with their respective generations!
I began writing in 2013 when my son and his family moved to Brazil. I wrote letters to my twin grandchildren in the form of stories, which sparked a realisation that I could write children’s fiction.
My first book, which contained five stories, was published in 2014. Three more books followed in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
In 2022 I launched my rebranded series of ‘Mincemeat’s World of Adventures’ with ‘Mincemeat and a Train Called Zayn’ a newly written, newly illustrated work based on a previous story. I have fourteen more books written.
Mincemeat, a kind, devoted and human-sized ginger cat, lives with rascally sidekick Great-Grandma in Roast Potato Lane, close to the village of Howdoyoudo in the English countryside. Mincemeat loves sewing, dancing and his motorbike. But not as much as he loves baking! Together he and Great-Grandma embark on all kinds of crazy adventures.
It’s fair to say that Mincemeat is my best buddy. I adore him. I love his quirkiness. His love of dancing, sewing, his motorbike, and best of all, baking! He’s kind, empathetic, a great listener, and will always be there for whoever needs his help. He is the kind of friend you’d be blessed to have!
Featuring an array of eccentric characters, my humorous tales explore themes of kindness, consideration, encouragement, pride and forgiveness.
So join me on my journey – we’re going to have a lot of fun!
